LegalPinney Talfourd Solicitors
Website development for a Legal 500-ranked law firm serving individuals and businesses across Essex and London.
I’m a freelance WordPress developer in London who moves websites safely: to a new host, a new domain, or onto WordPress from another platform.

Every URL is mapped and redirected, and the new site is tested on staging before the switch, so there’s no downtime and your search rankings stay intact.
Switching hosts, consolidating sites, or moving off a page builder – nothing gets lost.
Brands I’ve worked with
Most migration problems come from the same few shortcuts: redirects that send everything to the home page, metadata left behind, or a DNS switch made before the new site was properly tested. Each one can undo years of search rankings overnight.
I treat every migration as a small project of its own. The current site is audited, every important URL is mapped, and the new setup is tested on staging before anything changes for your visitors. After launch I keep an eye on Search Console to catch anything Google flags.
Redirects mapped by hand and metadata carried over, so the traffic you’ve earned comes with you.
Tested on staging and switched at a quiet time, with the old site in place until the new one is confirmed.
Custom post types, relationships, products and orders moved intact, not flattened.
The person planning your migration is the person doing it.
Your WordPress site moved to faster, better-supported hosting, with files, database, SSL and email settings handled.
A move to a new domain with every old URL redirected, and Google Search Console told about the change.
Sites on Wix, Squarespace, Joomla or other platforms rebuilt in WordPress, with content carried across and old URLs redirected.
Sites built with Elementor, Divi or similar rebuilt as a lean custom theme, without losing content.
Thousands of posts, people, products or pages moved with their relationships, categories and images intact.
Products, customers and order history moved, with payments tested before your shop goes live again.
I review your current site, hosting, plugins and traffic, and record every URL that gets visits or has links pointing to it.
Each old URL is matched to its new home and a redirect plan is agreed. Nothing gets sent to the home page by default.
The site is moved to a private staging copy on the new setup and tested: pages, forms, checkout, emails and analytics.
DNS is changed at a quiet time, with the old site still running until the new one is confirmed live, so visitors see no downtime.
Redirects, crawl errors and rankings are checked in Search Console after launch, and anything unexpected gets fixed.
I cannot recommend Leon highly enough. He migrated my website to a new, properly optimised host, fixed numerous underlying technical issues, set up security, added GDPR-compliant legal pages and integrated Google Analytics and Search Console.
I will absolutely be using Leon again for future projects and would recommend him without hesitation to any small business owner looking for a trustworthy, skilled and fairly priced web developer.
Marta Zbien — Mustus ConsultingFantastic experience with Leon. We had a very specific requirement for a rebuild of our website and Leon did a great job. Very patient with some changing requirements and always happy to explore new ways/ options for us until we were happy. Would certainly recommend.
Steve Spriggs — William Clarence EducationHappy is an understatement. I came to Leon with an issue on my website, he spent time exploring the problem and then solved it in minutes. He charged me an incredibly fair price. Strongly recommended.

Not if the migration is done properly. Keeping URLs where possible, redirecting the ones that change, and carrying over titles, descriptions and content is what protects rankings. A short wobble while Google recrawls is normal, but traffic should settle back quickly.
No. The new site is built and tested on staging first, and the old site keeps running until the switch is confirmed. Visitors are never shown a broken or missing site.
Yes. I move sites to WordPress from Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Weebly, GoDaddy Website Builder, Joomla, Drupal, Blogger and hand-coded HTML. Sites on other platforms can’t simply be copied across, so they’re rebuilt in WordPress with the content moved over and every old URL redirected. It takes longer than a WordPress-to-WordPress move, and I’ll quote it separately. Moving a shop from Shopify? See WooCommerce development.
First I list every page, post, image and URL on the old site, because most platforms only export part of your content: Squarespace exports pages and blog posts, Webflow exports its CMS collections, and Wix has no full export at all. Then I design and build the WordPress site on staging, move the content across, and match each old URL to its new one. Once you’ve checked it, the domain is switched over, redirects are tested and Google Search Console is updated, with the old site kept until the new one is confirmed working.
Wix and Squarespace suit small, simple sites you want to set up yourself with a monthly fee that covers everything. WordPress suits sites that need to grow: custom design and features, an online shop, lots of content, or full control over SEO. You own a WordPress site outright and can move it to any host or developer, whereas on Wix or Squarespace you’re tied to their platform. Most businesses that move to WordPress do so because they’ve outgrown what those platforms allow.
Yes. Like Wix and Squarespace sites, they can’t be copied across directly, so the design and content are rebuilt in WordPress and every old URL is redirected. You end up with a site you can edit yourself, on hosting you control.
Yes. Products, customers and orders all move across, and payments are tested on staging before your shop goes live on the new setup.
Email often shares DNS with your website, so I check where it’s hosted before changing anything and make sure your mailboxes keep working through the move.
Yes. For Pinney Talfourd I moved thousands of pieces of content, keeping posts linked to the right solicitors and solicitors linked to the right offices.
Usually your WordPress admin, hosting control panel and domain registrar logins, plus Google Search Console if you have it. I’ll give you a short checklist before we start.
Full backups are taken before anything changes and the old site stays in place until the new one is confirmed working, so it can be rolled back quickly.
Yes. If you need a new home for your site, I offer managed WordPress hosting with updates, backups and security included.
